Tips of The Trade!

I love saving,  especially on my grocery bill.    With 6 mouths to feed, my food bill would be huge if I wasn't a smart shopper.   

To save on my food bill,  I look at the grocery ads and compare.  There are 4 grocery stores within a 5 mile radius of my home, so it allows me to be able to take advantage of the best deals out there. I take a notepad and write down the best deal on the grocery items for that week.  I always match it up with a coupon. In my area, the stores double coupons up to .99 cents.  I clip coupons from the coupon inserts in  Sunday's newspaper.   I'm lucky in the fact that the little store down the street from my home,  lets me take the leftover Sunday papers on Monday mornings.  This allows me to get multiples of a coupon.   With having multiples of a coupon, I then can stockpile items for little or almost nothing.  

I also buy meat in bulk.   There is a meat market in the next town over,  that runs incredible deals, such as boneless chicken breasts for $1.39 a lb, when you buy the family pack.   I will buy 10 or more packs at a time.  I have a freezer downstairs so this allows me to buy alot and save big.   The savings on the meat alone,  has paid 3 times over for the cost of the freezer itself.   Aside from couponing and buying meats in bulk,  I also refund which increases my savings my even more.

Look What I Found!

I don't know about you but before I do any online shopping, aside from using coupon code for savings,  I always stop by and check out the Look What I Found board at MyCoupons to see what great deals have been found and posted.   I find deals there that I know I wouldn't have found on my own.   I've saved tons of money and picked up some really hot buys by visiting that board over the years.   Just last week I found a post for 50% off Honey Hams from HoneyBakedHams.com and ended getting one for around $19 shipped!  Yummodelicious! That is certainly a deal I wouldn't have known about.

The Smart Traveler...

I love traveling.  I love going to new places and seeing new things.   In my life I've traveled to many places within the United States,  though I've never traveled abroad.    One day I hope that I may be able to visit Australia and especially Ireland and England.    The latter two because they are part of my own family's heritage, on my Father's side. 

My family and I have been to as many as 25 states within the United States over the years.   Though places that we have visited were all very nice,  I must say,  Arizona, New Mexico and Florida are on my favorites list.   Arizona and New Mexico make the list with their awesome landscapes.   The mesas are beautiful at sundown casting various hues of colors,  like a rainbow had been painted on their sides.  Florida is up there of course because of  a magical place called DisneyWorld.   Something in that place just makes you feel so much like a kid again!

I like to read about other people's travels.   Places they've been,  things they've enjoyed and discovered.   I often go to The Smart Traveler board here on MyCoupons to read about where some of our members have been and what their trips were like.

If It's FREE, It's For Me!

FREE!   You just have to love that word... FREE.   I know I love that word.   If it's FREE it's for me!  I love going to the grocery store, matching up coupons and sales to end up with the ultimate cost of paying ZERO....FREE!    Family members come over and ask, "Why do you have so many packages of these razors?"   It was FREE!  "Free?", they ask.  Yes, FREE!   Or they may spot a magazine I have.   "I love this magazine, how much did you pay for the subscription?",  they ask.   I reply "FREE".   "Free?  You got this for free?"  It is funny to watch their faces become overtaken by a confused look.... like I'm speaking a foreign language.   Freebies are out there, but you have to know where to look.

One of the places I like to look for "Freebies" is on the Just Freebie Board at MyCoupons.com.   The Just Freebie forum is filled with postings of FREEBIES found around the Internet - Magazines, coupons, product samples and even Freebies for teachers and homeschoolers!   The Just Freebie board is overseen by our very own Community Leader, Janenga.  Community Leader Janenga has been finding and posting freebies for a very long time now,  as a member and as a Community Leader.
