$40 BILLION?!

mycoupons | 31 March, 2008 16:57

Ok, so I MUST live in a cave because I had no idea that Exxon Mobil made $40 BILLION in profit in 2007 until I heard it on the radio this morning.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!  Our country is on its way to a recession and those PIGS at Exxon are bringing in 40 bill.  Who needs 40 bill?!  My gosh, I’ve been so bitter all day.  I remember when gas was 99 cents a gallon and we could all fill our tanks up for 10 bucks. THAT WAS ONLY LIKE 5 YEARS AGO PEOPLE!!!  Now our gas is well on its way to $4 a gallon!  I feel like I’m working to make enough money to put gas in my car to drive to work! The price of EVERYTHING has gone up.  You will spend a fortune on produce.  Restaurant prices are all going up.  You can’t sell your house to save your life.  People are getting laid off from work because the companies need to downsize to save money.  And those @&!* at Exxon Mobil are sitting pretty raking in $40 Billion in ONE YEAR?!  I am sick to my stomach.  I will NEVER purchase ANYTHING from an Exxon gas station.  I don’t care if I’m about to run out of gas and the only gas station nearby is Exxon.  I will let my car run out of gas, kindly push my car to the side of the road, call a damn taxi cab to pick me up and drive me to another gas station to get gas to put in my car before I will EVER use an Exxon.  And if this blog was allowed to be R rated then I would tell you where I think the Exxon big dogs can stick their gas pump.  I’ll give you a hint, BEND OVER!

Year of a Million Dreams!

mycoupons | 27 March, 2008 11:34

MickeyHi everyone!  Well my partner in crime and our beloved Account Manager, Allison, has left today for my favorite place in the world...Disney World!  I am so jealous I've been daydreaming all day!  For those who have been there, you know what I'm talking about and for those who haven't had the opportunity yet then I hope and pray you find out what I'm talking about soon.

I had the privilege of being accepted into the Disney College Program when I was a sophomore in college.  It was the absolute best time of my life.  The Disney College Program chooses students from all over the world to move to Orlando, FL and work for Walt Disney World and take some college courses and even get school credits!  I lived in Orlando for 8 months in an apartment that was provided to me from Disney and I worked in the Animal Kingdom.  I got to wear a really fun safari outfit and hiking boots and I worked in vending for The Lion King show and Tarzan!  I earned a full semester of credits for my experience, made the best of friends (who I'm still friends with to this day,) and had the chance of a lifetime to visit the parks every single day!

My experience made me appreciate life so much.  Most families save for years in order to vacation in Disney World.  It is costly to stay in Disney, get into the parks, and eat, but it is WELL worth the money!  Disney is going to continue their Year of a Million Dreams giveaway for the remainder of 2008 granting dreams big or small for guests who love Walt Disney World and Disneyland as much as me!  You could win a chance to stay in Cinderella’s Castle Suite, Disney’s own private island in the Bahamas for 2 days, or Disney’s Dream Suite, a 15 vacation to Disney Paris, Hong Kong, California, and Florida and lead the parade as the Grand Marshall, attend the High School Musical 3 premiere, and so much more!

Ok, I’m gonna go send some entries in to win too!  Good luck and take care!

March Madness and Easter candy...can't go wrong!

mycoupons | 20 March, 2008 13:17

cheers Hola!

Ok so it's my FAVORITE time of year!  We started things off with St. Patty's day and if you read the blog then you know what kinda time that was...then comes the start of MARCH MADNESS...and then Easter!  You cannot go wrong with beer, hoops, and canddyyyy!

As much as I love MyCoupons and working here, I CANNOT WAIT TO LEAVE TODAY! haha It'll be great to plop my butt in front of the TV and turn on the games.  I turned in all of my NCAA brackets this morning and I'm feelin confident. UCLA don't fail me now!  Apparently, in the ESPN bracket that I filled out you can win 10k!  But you would pretty much have to pick it perfect to win because I can't even imagine how many people submitted entries. Qdoba and Coke Zero also had a bracket that I used along with Facebook, Yahoo, my family, the list goes on.  BIG MONEY, NO WAMMIES!!

Our amazing boss has given us off tomorrow for Good Friday so after church it's basketball time....and sometime in between I have to buy an Easter dress but I'll probably just pop into Target and pick something out because, well, who doesn't LOVE Target?!

As far as Easter goes, my family has made the tradition of having dinner at Seven Springs Ski Resort in Seven Springs, PA.  About 20 of us get together and stuff ourselves full of crab legs.  And then comes the Cadbury Eggs, Peeps, Jelly Beans...speaking of jelly beans, I highly recommend trying Nerds jelly beans. They are delicious.  The diet is back on on Monday!

Do you all have any Easter traditions or love March Madness as much as me?  Want to talk about your favorite Easter candy? Feel free to post about it in The Cafe in our shopping boards!

I look forward to hearing from you!

The aftermath of St. Patty's Day

mycoupons | 18 March, 2008 16:00

Hey ya'll!  I wanted to check in and see how everyone's St. Patty's Day was. Mine was....interesting. I’ll share a snippit of my day:

A yearly tradition since I turned 21, I spent Saturday in downtown Pittsburgh for the festivities.  We started the day at a friend's house for Kegs and eggs.  The boys made the most amazing breakfast and we had "few" beers. Oh, and Irish car bombs. Oh, and shots of Jameson.  Now keep in mind that I gave up alcohol for Lent (yes yes I know Easter was a week later and I sinned for the day,) but I hadn't drank a sip since Lent started and won't have another sip until after Easter!

So we venture down to Station Square.  We took the incline down which is usually beautiful.  For those not familiar with the Pittsburgh area, the view from Mt. Washington is beautiful!  You can see the entire city and it’s especially breathtaking at night.  This particular ride was not so beautiful.  We waited in line for about 30 minutes to take the incline down and doesn’t it figure that someone vomited right before our ride!  We tip toe lightly around the mess and head down the cliff.

Once in station square we head straight for a kiosk to buy a few Guinness.  At this point we probably don’t NEED another beer, but hey, when in Rome.  So we are all standing around having a good time and BAM!!!!!!!  Someone throws a cup at my head.  This isn’t just ANY cup either.  It is a ‘yard of beer’ cup.  Whose bright idea was it to make a cup that fits a yard of beer?!  Well the nice people standing next to us point out the culprit and we approach him for an apology.  Only instead of an apology he denies vehemently that he didn’t do it and points further in the crowd.  We give up and head back to our group of friends only to see the idiot laughing and point hysterically because he ‘tricked us.’

Ok, cue the drunken tirade by yours truly.

I start to scream unmentionable obscenities at who I believe I called “Pepperoni Face.”  So he charges towards my poor boyfriend of all people to “go.”  He winds up for a punch and stupid me steps in the middle of them because to be quite honest I really love my boyfriends face!  So without really thinking (oh boy it all happened so fast and in hind site I regret not kicking him in some other unmentionables) I put my palm in his face, my fingers in his eyes, and push his face as hard as I can.  TAKE THAT MAN WHO THROWS ENORMOUS BEER CUPS AT MY HEAD!   He stumbles back a bit in enough time for his friends to grab him.  That’ll teach him!

The End.
