Buying Shoes Online

mycoupons | 18 December, 2007 11:18

As an avid shopper who some may say needs to sit through a couple SA (Shopaholics Anonymous) meetings, I know that the initial online purchase can be a scary feat;  especially when it comes to buying shoes.  You may ask yourself, what if the shoe doesn’t fit?  Is it safe to use my credit card online?  What if I don’t like the shoes once I see them in person?  What is this whole online shopping craze all about anyways?  But have no fear; MyCoupons is here to help you ease your worries.

First, let me start by saying that there is nothing better than a store that never closes.  Oh a Shopaholics heaven!  Imagine sitting in front of your computer in your jammies, heck in your birthday suit even! (Hey, whatever floats your boat is my motto Wink )  You peruse the pages of shoes.  Stilettos, espadrilles, peep toes, slingbacks,  mules, strappy sets of heaven on a heel.  Ok, sorry I’m getting carried away.  Anyway, with a click of a mouse you just bought yourself the little black platform booties you’ve been dying for.  It’s that easy!  There are some tricks of the trade that I’d like to share with you though before you make your initial purchase.

  1. Do your research.  Most online shoe stores offer free shipping and free returns if you need to return or exchange.  And yes, I said FREE!  When shopping online, check each stores return policy to make sure if need be you may return your shoes hassle free.
  2. Shop for brands you know.  Some of you may not want to deal with returning items, free or not.  So for those who don’t want to try something new, stick to the brands that you know and love.  You will know exactly how that brand fits and what size you’ll wear.
  3. Fear not to pay online.  I’m sure many of you have feared entering your credit card online, but I can assure you that buying online can be even safer than buying in store.
  • First check to make sure that the site is secure.  You can check the URL for a “secure socket lair,” ie: https.
  • If you are still skeptical, some sites let you order and then pay via check.
  • Shoes.com offers a Bill Me Later option.  Bill Me Later is a convenient and secure new payment method designed for purchasing on the web or over the phone. As a credit account, Bill Me Later provides you with the flexibility to purchase without using your credit card.  No card=extra level of security.
  • And many other stores accept PayPal in which you can pay from a variety of different sources.
  1. Use a coupon code.  These days, most online merchants offer coupon codes for online shoppers making it even more inexpensive to shop online than in store!  All you need to do is visit www.mycoupons.com and search for the shoe store you’d like to shop at.  Have a particular shoe you’d like to buy but don’t know who sells it?  Search by product to find what store carries that shoe.
  2. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!  Since you are in the comfort of your own home, you don’t need to worry about fighting the crowd and another customer for that last pair of Steve Madden Women's Reilly Pump.  In most cases when you buy online, they offer more styles and sizes for everyone to enjoy!
All this shoe talk is giving me the itch to shop, so while I’m checking out the selection at Shoes.com, you can too!  And while you’re at it, save 15% and get free shipping by using the coupon code MCNOVSAVE.

Happy shopping!    Money mouth
