Cool new site to check out....
April Fools!!!
$40 BILLION?!
You know, sometimes you come across an ad in the paper, and it seems like such a great deal you have to wonder.... is it a mistake? Like the old saying goes, "If something appears to be too good to be true, it usually is".
Well, as unlikely as it seemed, I was lucky and just got a great deal that IS almost too good to be true.
How often, do you see a name brand 18 volt cordless drill for $49? And as if that wasn't enough, they were offering a FREE cordless tool of your choice, that uses the same batteries too! Such as a "saws-all", a circular saw, a vacuum, jig saw or an impact drill FREE with the cordless drill purchase! These tools on their own are about $50 bucks each normally.
I actually figured they must be pretty cheesy, but dear hubby wanted a new cordless drill and I needed a gift from the kids for his birthday last week, so I picked one up. It turned out to be a Black & Decker FireStorm tool and it came just as promised as stated in the Lowe's ad. A neat carrying case, some driver bits, a removable 1/2" chuck (for a quick change between screwdrivers and drill bits), and a 2 inch range gear box which changes the speed and power from powerful to downright serious.
My dear hubby, (being the self-proclaimed tool expert he is), was naturally skeptical when he opened his gift and I told him about the deal. He proceeded to open up the boxes, and put the battery right into the charger and waited anxiously to try it out. Well, he was AMAZED! He drilled holes and screwed screws of every form possible, and judging by his grin on his face, it seemed to be working pretty well.
THEN, he got out the "saws-all" (reciprocating saw) that came FREE with the drill . He put the battery from the drill on it and proceeded to cut everything in his reach.
OH NO, I created a monster! I rushed frantically moving anything I didn't want damaged, I could not help noticing how much he was enjoying making a mess. But, I've got to admit, that in itself, was worth the $49 bucks.
The only thing I might have done, if I had thought of it at the time, is to have purchased the vacuum tool also, so he could clean up his own mess!
Bottom line... deals like this do come along and when they you do, you got to go give em' a try.
The tool sale is still going on at the Lowe's until June 17. I MAY just go back and get that vacuum for him for Father's day!
You can purchase the FireStorm 18 Volt Cordless Drill at Lowe's.com, but I believe the FREE tool deal is only available in their brick and mortar store.
You can also purchase this tool directly from FireStorm.com and while there find the details on the FREE tool promotion at Lowe's.
If you miss out on this deal all together, it is a great tool, and you can also find it at Amazon.com
Keep on saving!
