My friend, Kimbra and her husband Charlie had a baby boy, Dillion almost five years ago. Dillion was born with a rare neurological condition called Hydraencephaly. In addition, Dillion has Hydrocephalus and a metabolic disorder called Methylglutaconic Aciduria.

Dillion also has many underlying conditions- Cortical vision impairment, a seizure disorder, reactive airway disease, and bradycardia.

I am telling you about Dillion today because his time here on earth is now drawing to a close. His parents have had to face the most agonizing crisis a parent can ever face- they have realized it is time to let their sweet baby boy go.

I can't even begin to imagine the emotional stress that must cause. Kimbra and Charlie have called in hospice care- to make Dillion comfortable and calm. These wonderful parents have dedicated the last five years of their lives to their children. Making sure Dillion was receiving the care he needs, and ensuring that their other children, Jakub and Karen were taken care of as well.

I am writing this for purely personal reasons. If you pray, please add this family to your prayers. If you do not pray, please keep them in your thoughts as they face what surely is the most difficult time in their lives. Dillion has fought a long, hard battle since he joined this world, and though I know his pain will soon end,the pain his entire family, and huge network of friends will feel, is just beginning. Please take a minute today to hug your own children. Please put your money woes and coupon deals on hold for ten minutes. Just ten minutes. Take this time to realize how precious life really is.
